		<description><![CDATA[I have a parallel bible which has the KJV plus 3 others side by side.  It&#039;s real useful to me to give me words to discuss things at a different level
and my 12 year old grandson uses even a different version to help him.  Once he has learned the story he is more able to go back to the KJV and understand it.  Other versions miss the poetry of the KJV to my taste though.  

Lately I have been reading the Sermon on the Mount for its form as a sermon.  I figure if it was an important enough sermon to be given at least 3 times - on the mount, on the plain, and in the new world - and was given by a master teacher, the form might be important.  Basically I am seeing it this way:
   Instant Involvement - The beatitudes - blessings
    promised to us personally as we reach for and 
    develop certain spiritual character traits.
   Specific Instruction
    Be an example
    Teach others
    Live the higher law
    BE like Heavely Father - perfect
   Interlude - How to pray - gives us confidence that 
    we can get help with the difficult tasks Jesus
    asks.
   Additional instruction on matters of attitude 
    forgive to be forgiven
    put on a happy face
    your treasures
   Some warnings against judging
                 against expecting others to value
                   what you have
                 against false prophets
                 against talking the talk but not
                   walking the walk
   Another interlude to calm our fears - Father/God
     analogy
   Conclusion - House on a Rock analogy - motivates
    by telling us in another way what we will get if
    we follow Him.]]></description>
